Play Your Cards Right

In the meantime, what are your resources? Some of us are born with many advantages that we are aware of. Others of us have them, but do not know it. Then, it does us no good, if we cannot acknowledge the facts. Thus, we can only begin where our minds allow us to.

We can win, only if we play; so, naturally, getting ahead requires action. After much thinking, I've come to discover that there are really no shortcuts. Accomplishments take work, commitment and growth. Period. Each day we have to play toward our strengths. Making them so strong and furious, that our weaknesses become less and less of a factor.

First things first, realize the type of life you want: Can’t work toward a goal if you do not know what it is. Do the slow research! Move cautiously and find mentors and motivation. Take the small initial steps to build a strong foundation. Then, get help: A great team that will take you to the next level!

People often underestimate how essential a team is! Yet, human interaction is necessary for most achievements in life. It is highly likely that there will be someone that you will need to speak to at some phase of your project, eventually. You need the right people in place.

To see the big picture, you should have others paint the smaller pieces: It will all come together. Doing everything on your own will prove to slow you down sooner or later.

We must learn to first prove our capabilities to the universe, then be willing to accept its offers of help which are deemed suitable for our current level or situation. If the world is just, experienced and more intelligent than ourselves- we need to respect where it places us. Understand that we are never given more than we can handle.

It has been said that “Anyone can get rich in America, but everyone can’t.” Who among us is willing to learn how to properly utilize our tools, discipline ourselves, focus and reach for greatness? Many people are much more comfortable with mundane and mediocre existences. If it is true that you get what you ask for, perhaps it’s time for some of us to evaluate our standards.

You have to begin where you are, regardless of what you think would be a more advantageous starting point. Just work on getting there first. Success is not a race, but a marathon!

Just Face It: You Need To Be That Person!

Its pretty common to have a fear of becoming that person that you sometimes make fun of; Reading labels in the grocery isle, scheduling everything including family time, or becoming an exercise fanatic. So, you then try all of these different methods of accomplishing your goals which seem somewhat better than any of those stereotyped routes. Yet, overtime, you realize that your newer clever ideas aren't doing the trick. Eventually, we start to understand why so many people are the very way that we taunt. Because it works!

As we grow wiser, we learn to appreciate "The Wheel" and to respect it, by NOT reinventing it. Hence the popular saying "Don't reinvent the wheel!" Many, many people have been just where we are today. There are time-tested methods to get us out of our ruts, but we may not always like them!

I have to start becoming more like those individuals whom I laugh at in my mind. I am not in a better position than them, the truth is actually vice versus: I need to get on their level! There are some areas of my life which require more discipline though they are not directly related to career duties; diet, exercise, appearance, personal credit & accountability, social life, etc. The more successful one becomes, he begins to see the importance of balancing all aspects of life: They impact one another. Health and happiness impacts performance!

If you are not a big fan of research, keeping an organized work area, or being an early bird- you may need to become highly effective in just that. Try being that person, if only to see if it works better for where you are trying to go. If you are not accomplishing your dreams, show a deeper drive and creativity to make things happen in your favor. How bad do you want it? Can you remove your biases and try to understand why things have been done a certain way for many years in regards to reaching your goals? Are you humble enough to not reinvent the wheel? Are you willing to become who you need to be for your desired level of success?

Best wishes to you and your happily balanced estate!

Building On Yesterday

I can recall the excitement felt whenever I set out onto a new path: I have everything all figured out perfectly, knowing that it will be a "Hit and run!" Then, when things are not as smooth sailing and easy as I had imagined, I critique myself and feel down! Sure enough, it must be pretty natural for entrepreneurs to be optimistic dreamers. We set our sights high, do a bit of research and sometimes underestimate the power of time and experience.

It takes getting to master a thing before we can truly gain the benefits of it. Exercise one day, here and there. Fine! Exercise everyday for a month. Wow! Cut sweets today- okay! Cut sweets for a week and you don't even crave em' as much.

Time has taught me to simply build on yesterday and embrace growth in small steps. Moving slowly ensures that we are careful, observant and truly learn the necessary processes inside and out. We may have big dreams, but a marathon is met one mile at a time.

I find that the biggest challenge I have is more so of disciplining myself to meet personal objectives: diet, exercise, paperwork, etc... Being self-employed, I must learn to manage myself effectively regarding how I utilize my time.

Success is very challenging: It requires discipline, vision, commitment, courage, flexibility and sternness, observation coupled with action, communication, problem solving, growth, mastery and patience with drive all at the same time.

It could take a while to figure out how to balance it all. So I urge those whom are "Up and coming" to take things one day at a time. Enjoy and appreciate each moment of development; knowing that things will change. Be proud of the fact that you are more wise today than yesterday; hold excitement for all of the keys that you've collected thus far. Perhaps your puzzle has a thousand or even a million pieces- just continuously build on from yesterday.

Best wishes to you and your happily balanced estate!

Who Am I?

Have you ever found yourself wandering through life, wondering exactly who you are supposed to be? What is my importance? Why am I here? I think as adults, we all eventually face this question. The routine life seems to wear thin on us over the years; from grade school, to jobs, to daily familial duties. This cycle seems to go round and round and never ends! I remember tabloids covering an interview with Jaden and Willow Smith. You know- Will and Jada's kids. Willow had reiterated how she'd gone to school for one year of her life. It was bitter sweet because, finally, she had learned why children were always so depressed. Yet, now she was depressed.

The routine lifestyle is NOT for everyone; especially me! I can do the same tasks, but there must be something intriguing about it. We long for shock, excitement, adventure, challenge, stimulation, etc... This is a natural yearning that our souls require from time to time.

I've noticed I may fear that I perhaps need to be that person that I mock or discreetly antagonize in some ways. The things that I perceived as so annoying, cumbersome and menial need to become ingrained within my lifestyle. I need to research more things, speak out with passion regarding that which holds importance to me, care about preventative health methods, ask more, do more and set higher standards for myself. My discipline needs improvement.

Sometimes I discover that I am surrounded by a sadness and a feeling of being incomplete and underwhelmed with my circumstances. I get lost in fantasies of envisioning myself as I wish to be and remembering as a child what I thought I'd be at this point in life. My imagination is great; probably one of the best out here. Yet, my will to be proactive and organized and driven toward meeting objectives is highly underdeveloped in my opinion.

A good thing is that two of my strengths are self-analysis and honesty: I find it helpful to go back in time and discover which realities about my life have come together to make me the person that I am today. I need to understand why I am who I am in order to overcome and rewire the very thinking which forms me. I do this because there are some aspects of myself that I must change in order to grow. This task is both scary and interesting at the same time!

I can go back and remember exact phrases that were stated; listen to the conversations around me that were impressionable on behavior and views. From those memories, I can better understand my current actions, habits and beliefs. Then, I can assess whether or not I am behaving counterproductive toward my goals and objectives in life.

I am constantly learning about myself: Who am I? What fires me up? How do I want to live? I hope you become or remain your biggest paparazzi fan! What do you know about you?

Best wishes to you and your happily balanced estate!
